Cap and Trade Negotiations taking Place Now

Behind the scenes in DC Senators Kerry (D-MA), Graham (R-SC) and Lieberman (I-CT)
are working on details for a new Cap and Trade law. Don't worry though, this new law will only increase the Gas Tax and a few other tax increases here and there. This is just what the Doctor ordered for a struggling economy and rising Gas prices. I don't think you could hurt the economy any more on purpose if you tried!

Here is the article from The Heritage Foundation:

Global Warming on the Hill
An Update from Heritage's Senate Relations Deputy Dan Holler
While Congress may officially be on a two-week recess, negotiations continue behind closed doors on the “tri-partisan” global warming proposal being advanced by Senators Kerry (D-MA), Graham (R-SC) and Lieberman (I-CT). If rumors are to believed, the group is working closely with industry and the Obama administration on how to construct a cap-and-trade program and levy a tax on gasoline and other transportation fuels. With gas prices on the rise and the economy struggling, such a plan will certainly be unpopular with the public. The question is whether or not Senators will, as with health care, ignore the will of the public.

Here is another article I found on The Drudge Report:

"Three senior US lawmakers are piecing together a sweeping bipartisan energy and climate bill, which looks set to include sweeteners to galvanise support among Republicans and industry groups.
The proposed legislation, encouraged by President Barack Obama, dilutes a climate bill that stalled last year in the Senate. The senators have hosted meetings with industry groups over the past two weeks, revealing details about their plan that would cap carbon emissions while expanding offshore oil drilling and nuclear power generation."
